My Entrepreneurial Journey

Hey Beloved,

I firmly believe that God has opened doors for me that I never thought were possible. I have experienced countless moments where things have fallen into place in a way that can only be described as divine intervention. From meeting the right people at the right time to learning how to secure funding for my business, I know God has been working behind the scenes to make it all happen.

I am reminded of the verse in the Bible that says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). I have lived by this verse in my entrepreneurial journey, and I have seen doors open that I never thought possible.

Reflecting on my journey, I have come to appreciate the rich legacy that my ancestors left behind. My uncles and grandfather were all entrepreneurs, and their passion and drive for success run deep within me. My aunt and mother were entrepreneurs, and I am grateful they continue to motivate me and encourage me to keep going. I am thankful to say that I have a legacy to uphold.

The journey toward success is complex. It is a winding road with challenges, uncertainties, and risks. However, the passion, courage, energy, and drive to succeed set entrepreneurs apart. These traits can be passed down to future generations.

I am determined to utilize all the resources at my disposal to succeed and leave a legacy my family can be proud of. The most recent and powerful resource I have encountered in my entrepreneurial journey is the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses program. This program was challenging, requiring vulnerability and a willingness to learn from my mistakes. The program has changed me personally and professionally.

The program taught me that I had made significant mistakes while starting my business. However, I did not let these mistakes define me. Instead, I learned from them. I realized that as an entrepreneur, one must be willing to take risks, but these risks must be calculated and well-informed. I also learned the value of creating a solid team that shares my vision and is committed to the business’ success.

The Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses program has given me a renewed sense of purpose and direction. I am now more focused, resilient, and committed to the success of my business. I have also learned to embrace failure as an opportunity to learn and grow. I am grateful to be a part of a community of entrepreneurs worldwide as an alum of this dynamic program.

As an entrepreneur, I am proud of the journey I have taken so far. I know the responsibility of being an entrepreneur, but I am honored to take it on. I am determined to build a business that serves my clients and positively impacts the community and future generations.

Peace & Love,
Sherri S. Wick
